Parisienne de naissance, woko dessine depuis qu'elle a pu tenir un crayon.

elle a d'abord étudié l'histoire de l'art, le dessin académique & la fabrication artisanale de tapis à la manufacture des gobelins ( paris, 13ème arr.). Elle y a exercé comme technicienne d'art, artiste licière à la confection de tapis très grand format, chacun inspiré d'oeuvres d'artistes contemporains (ex : Zao Wou-ki, Arnal ... )

Cependant, désireuse de pratiquer un métier pouvant lier sa passion du dessin à son amour de l'artisanat et du travail manuel, le tatouage c'est imposé à elle comme une évidence. C'est alors qu'elle opére un virage à 180° dans sa vie : démissionne, passe la formation d'hygiène & salubrité, achete du matériel et entame son auto-apprentissage.

Woko a affiné son style au fil des années : inspirée par les codes graphiques de l'irezumi (tatouage japonais ) tout à la fois précis et concis, suggestif et naturaliste ; ainsi que par son attraction forte pour l'orient, sa richesse & sa variété culturelle ( berbère, indien, maori, japonais, chinois... )

born parisian, woko draws ever since she could hold a pencil.

first she studied art history, academic draw & the traditional craft of carpet at the manufacture des gobelins (paris 13th district). She work there as a creative craftwoman, "licière" artist to making very large format of luxury carpets each one inspired by contemporary artist's work ( ex : zao wou-ki, arnal ... )

However, she wanted to do a job capable of linking her passion for of drawing and her love for artisanal craft & manual labor, then the tattoo appears to her like the obvious. So she take the decision to give her resignation, to follow the sanitation training for tattoing, bought the equipment and started to learn by herself.

Over the years woko clarified her style : inspired by the graphic codes of irezumi ( japanese tattoo )
which is accurate & succinte, evocative & naturalistic at the same time ; and her strong pull for eastern cultural wealth & variety
( berber people, indian, maori, japanese, chinese ... )
